This place has such delicious food at a price that is unbelievable. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming.
I am not familiar with Nicaraguan cuisine but I can tell you the shredded beef plate (Carne Desmenuzada) is something special. Juicy meat cooked with sweet onions and peppers and served with rice and crispy plantain chips, and the cherry on top is not a cherry but a fried block of salty white cheese. The term "melts in your mouth" should be reserved for very special occasions and this is definitely one of them. -

Slow service . Waited around 40 mins for 4 pupusas to go . From the start didn't feel welcomed . I used to go there a lot when there was a different owner and now the vibe is different . They didn't even bother to apologized for the long wait .
After they gave me the food I said thank you so much and again the lady working there didn't acknowledge me and walked away . I don't care if the food is cheap or whatever but if the customer service sucks I won't go back and eat there . -

Ok, where do I start.
So, I'm all about venturing out and eating at new places. Whether it's in a nice area or not, I'm game. First the review.
Service: The service was good, but waited an hour for our food, not ok when they weren't even busy.
Ambiance: A little hole in the wall place with basic decor. Needs a paint job and to gut out and remodel the bathroom, it's scary gross.
Location: It's in an sketchy area but I'm ok with eating in sketchy areas.
Food: We ordered a Carne Asada plate and Bistec Ensebollado (piece of meat with onions) and cacao to drink. I should've known it wasn't going to meet my expectations when the cacao was lacking flavor. The carne Asada was hella seasoned in lemon but no salt & pepper, the gallo pinto didn't have salt either and the beans & rice were hard. The only thing that was decent was the fried cheese and fried plantains. The Onion Steak was bland and the meat was tough. Too add injury to insult, I got sick! Stomach bubbling and within 15 minutes from being done eating, I count find a bathroom quick enough.
I'm all about trying new places in new cities. I am NO STRANGER to Nicaraguan food, so I know this was not worth eating here. If you are ever in San Francisco, try Las Tinajas, that's amazing food. Sad not more Nicaraguan places can taste like Las Tinajas. And how do they have 4 stars!?! Overrated. -

Cute little hole in the wall type of place with tasty authentic Nicaraguan food. Great prices and portion of food. If in the area, check them out.

Great tasting Nicaraguan food. Stopped here for lunch on a trip to LA. Prices are reasonable and the portions were great. I had the fritanga and it was on point.
